INTRODUCTION

In the event you encounter a customer concern of cold clutch judder that goes away after the first few applications, replacement of some clutch parts will be necessary to repair the vehicle. Prior to replacing these parts, you should confirm the engine and transmission mounting is not broken, loose, or misaligned.

Film Residue Removal from Underside of Front Seat Cushion Covers – 2010 and Later Subaru Legacy & Outback

SUBJECT: Film Residue Removal from Underside of Front Seat Cushion Covers

 

INTRODUCTION

In the event you receive a customer concern of what may feel like bumps or foreign matter trapped under the seat cushion upholstery, a film applied to the underside of the fabric backing to help ease initial assembly (DOW Film) may be separating and starting to gather or “ball-up”.  This condition is caused by abrasion between the film and the seat cushion foam that occurs when getting in and out of the vehicle.  The film residue is easily removed and removal of it is not detrimental to the appearance or durability of the upholstery.  This information is applicable to both leather and cloth seat cover materials.

Premature Wear of Front Seat Fabric – 2012-0213 Subaru Impreza & XV Crosstrek

INTRODUCTION

This bulletin announces the availability of revised front seat upholstery for both the seat cushion and backrest made with a revised fabric material which will provide increased durability and prevent pilling or fuzzing of the side bolster areas as shown in the example photo below.  These new materials have increased abrasion resistance along with a resin coating on the fabric’s backing to prevent thread pull-out.
