SUBJECT: DTC P0456 / Clamps Added to Canister Purge Control Solenoid Valve Hose

 

INTRODUCTION

This bulletin announces a production change involving the addition of spring clamps to both ends of the canister purge control solenoid valve hose. In some cases, a small leak at these hose connections could result in a Check Engine Light (CEL) illumination with DTC P0456 stored in memory.

If you encounter a vehicle that has a broken front stabilizer bar clamp and/or flange bolt, it may be the result of the stabilizer bar shape inconsistency. A countermeasure was made to the die for the molding process. The listed repair procedure should only be followed if the flange bolt is broken.

INTRODUCTION

This bulletin is for informational purposes only.

Turbocharged engines require proper maintenance especially when the vehicle is used under severe driving conditions, such as moderate to hard acceleration and engine braking on a somewhat regular basis.

In any case, it is recommended that the engine oil and filter be changed every 3,750 miles (6,000 km) or 3-3/4 months.
