NUMBER: 12-317-21 DATE: 03/29/21 APPLICABILITY: 2020-21MY Legacy and Outback SUBJECT: Console Lid Inner Tray Mat- Design Change INTRODUCTION: This bulletin announces a change to the mat located in the inside tray of the center console box lid to address concerns of shrinking and deformation. The new mat is made with a revised production process and incorporates an enhanced texture to prevent the condition shown in the photo below. PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION: This bulletin will be revised with the starting VIN information for the change when it becomes available. PART INFORMATION: REMINDER: Always order the most up-to-date replacement parts based on the specific VIN being repaired. The new MAT part number is 92177AN021. The service procedures for replacing the console box lid mat remain unchanged. Always refer to STIS and review the full requirements of the repair being performed. The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time, every time. NOTE: The console box lid assembly does NOT have to be replaced to address a condition with the mat as the mat component is serviced separately.
