INTRODUCTION:
This bulletin announces a design change made to the front stabilizer bar bushing clamps. The new clamps have added reinforcement flanges with directional holding claws. They are left and right side specific and can be identified by physical (L – R) markings. Due to the new design, there will be a change to the service procedure for installing the stabilizer bar.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
- The production change information for Impreza, Legacy, and Ascent is TBD.
- The new clamps were incorporated into Outback production starting the VIN N3100023.
- The new clamps were designed for 22MY Outback Wilderness. They were being introduced into 21MY SIA produced vehicles as a running change prior to the start of 22MY Outback Wilderness production.

Installing the NEW clamps:
Using the applicable Subaru
Service Manual: Suspension > Stabilizer > STABILIZER BUSHING
- Vehicles produced after the production change utilize clamp p.n.s 20416AN000 and 20416AN010.
- Install the clamp with the peak of triangle facing the front of the vehicle.
- REMINDER: the shape of the clamps is different from left to right.
NOTE: The Service Manual uses a black star () in the component breakdown illustrations to indicate one-time use parts. EXAMPLE: In a case where the stabilizer bar links are disconnected, the retaining nuts for the links are one-time use and must be replaced at reassembly.
