NUMBER: 02-187-21
DATE: 06/01/21
INTRODUCTION:
This Service Information Bulletin outlines changes in the service procedure for engine oil pressure inspection for ALL models. The NEW procedure requires the engine oil pressure to be measured at idle AND at 3000 RPM. This standard has changed to provide an easier inspection. These changes will be added soon to the applicable Service Manuals.
SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:
REMINDER: Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- Always confirm the oil level is at the proper level prior to inspection.
- The standard oil pressure value is based on an engine oil temperature of 80°C (176°F).
- If the oil pressure is OUT of the specification, diagnose per the applicable Service Manual.
- If the oil pressure warning light is ON and oil pressure is within standard specification, diagnose per the applicable Service Manual.
Engine> MECHANICAL > Engine Oil Pressure > INSPECTION
