- [Easy to Use—Work Out of the Box] + [FOXWELL 2026 New Version] FOXWELL NT604 Elite scan tool is the 2026 new version from FOXWELL, designed for car owners who want to figure out the cause of issues before fixing car problems by scanning common systems like ABS, SRS, engine, and transmission. The NT604 Elite obd2 scanner diagnostic tool comes with the latest software—no need to waste time downloading software first. Plug the scanner into the OBDII port with OBDII cable to start the diagnosis.
- [Affordable] + [Reliable Car Health Monitor] Will you be confused what happens when the warning light of ABS/SRS/transmission/check engine flashes? Instead of taking your cars to dealership, this FOXWELL scanner will help you do a thorough scanning and detection for your cars and pinpoint the root cause. Note:The device is a diagnostic tool, not a repair tool. To turn off a warning light, you must first physically repair the issue causing it. Only then can the scanner be used to clear the corresponding fault code.

Continued on the next page August 2022 TechTIPS Page 3 of 9 This series features TechTIPS articles frequently referred to by Techline. This month’s feature is from September 2015. 07 2010-2016 FORESTER, TPMS LIGHT FLASHING, SENSOR REGISTRATION ISSUES The Techline has received a number of calls regarding flashing TPMS warning lights. After initial diagnosis, if you are even able to communicate with the TPMS system, sometimes codes are stored, but most of the time there are none. If you encounter this condition, and for example, only 3 of 4 TPMS sensors are able to be registered, always check the TPMS control module for signs of water intrusion before replacing any parts. Also, always inspect the connectors and pins at the module carefully for corrosion if this condition is verified. Most cases have been traced back to the passthrough rubber harness cover / bellows between the body and the rear gate not being fully seated as shown in the photos below. The improper seating area has been primarily on the front side which can make it hard to see if not inspected carefully. There have also been isolated cases of a missing sealing gasket on the rear roof rail mounting stud. When either of these conditions occur, water can enter the vehicle, follow down the rear gate harness and drip directly onto the TPMS control module, eventually causing internal damage as seen in the bottom photo of a damaged ciruit board. If you verify this concern, make sure to thoroughly clean and fully re-seat the pass through harness cover and re-check to verify any water leak has been repaired. To complete the repair, it will be necessary to replace the TPMS control module and re-register all the transmitters. Continued on the next page August 2022 TechTIPS Page 4 of 9 Solterra DTC’s Resulting from Service or Maintenance Activities: P0A1B1F, P0A1C1F, U113B87 01 When servicing the Solterra, it is possible to cause DTCs to set inadvertently by not following the correct service procedures outlined in STIS. Below are examples of DTC’s that may set and how to prevent them from occurring. DTC P0A1B1F (Generator Control Module Circuit Intermittent), P0A1C1F (Drive Motor “B” Control Module Circuit Intermittent) Detection DTCs P0A1B1F and P0A1C1F may be set during the following work activities: 1. Disconnecting the 12V battery (auxiliary battery) terminal(negative) with EV mode Ready-ON. 2. Disconnecting the 12V battery terminal while the System Main Relay (SMR) is in overheat protection mode. SMR overheat protection mode is started when Ready-ON Ready-OFF is repeated many times in a short period of time. This could include several quick ON/OFF cycles as the vehicle is written up in the service drive, moved to the parking lot and then moved into the service bay. The SMR remains ON several minutes after Ready-OFF (IG-OFF) for overheat protection. If you disconnect the 12V battery during this time, these DTC’s may set. Note that even if these DTC are detected, they do not affect driving and can be cleared by using the SSM. Observe the two points below. (1) Do not disconnect the 12V battery during Ready-ON (see Fig 1). (2) When disconnecting the 12V battery, wait 3 minutes after IG-OFF as described in the service manual (see Fig 2). Fig 1: Ready-ON is displayed in the red circle. Continued on the next page August 2022 TechTIPS Page 5 of 9 Solterra DTC’s Resulting from Service or Maintenance Activities: P0A1B1F, P0A1C1F, U113B87 (CONTINUED) 01 Fig 2: Service Manual Excerpts DTC U113B87 (Lost Communication with Charging Communication Module Missing Message) Detect During PDI During PDI, a warning message (Plug-in Charge System) may display on the instrument panel (Fig 3) and U113B87 might be detected. This DTC indicates a failure in the CAN BUS between the Plug-in ECU and the Communication ECU (the unit used to communicate with the charging stand). When the DC cut fuse (30A) is not installed (Fig 4), the power supply to the communication ECU is cut off. If the Plug-in ECU tries to communicate with the Communication ECU, U113B87 will be set, and a warning message will be displayed on the instrument panel. The Plug-in ECU communicates with the communicating ECU at the following two points. (1) When the 12V battery is reconnected and first IG-ON. *When the 12V battery is disconnected, the Communication ECU part number information on the Plug-in ECU is cleared, so it must record it again following the first IG-ON. (2) When DC charging and DC CUT FUSE (30A) is removed (see Fig 4). If U113B87 is detected, or was detected in the past, you can clear it using the SSM. One Touch Turn Signal Operation With the introduction of the 2022 WRX
, a new feature has been added to the turn signal operation. If faced with a customer concern about the turn signal lever operation, take note that it now incorporates one-touch usage. One Touch Turn Signal Operation (CONTINUED) 07 2019MY(+) Hybrid Inverter Cable Installation When installing a new Inverter Cable on a Hybrid Crosstrek, it may be tempting to use dielectric grease or some other kind of protectant when installing the cable. Research performed by the SOA engineering department discovered that applying grease may accelerate corrosion and cause unfavorable results. The terminal end and cable should be clean and free of debris. Be sure to always follow STIS closely for the proper installation process and do not add unapproved chemicals/sealants to this cable terminal.
