INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PART NUMBER: PT942-42233
DESCRIPTION: Solterra Rear Cargo Sill
STEP 1: Prepare for the Installation.
(a) Inspect all kit components and check for damage or missing parts.
(b) Remove the negative battery terminal.
CAUTION: Do not touch the positive terminal with any part of the tool when removing the cable.
STEP 2: Disassemble the Vehicle.
(a). Remove cargo floor panel from vehicle, as well as any contents in cargo area or other accessories that may be present (tonneau cover).
(b) Pull weather strip away from vehicle cargo sill.
(c) Using a pry tool, remove vehicle cargo sill by disengaging 4 clips.
(d) Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the clip in the tool organizer tray.
NOTE: It may be helpful to apply upward pressure on the Styrofoam by grabbing the front edge and gently lifting it while turning the screwdriver counter-clockwise with the other.
(c) Remove the Styrofoam tray from the vehicle. Place it to the side.
(f) Remove two (2) fasteners in RH side trunk panel: one Phillips head screw near second row and one two-stage clip near the rear of the vehicle. Remove by prying up on inner tab, then pull outward.
(g) Starting at the rear of the vehicle, remove RH side trunk panel by prying with a pry tool to disengage two clips at the rear of the vehicle.
NOTE: If a clip is stuck to the body after removal, remove the clip and reattach it to the side panel.
(h) Continue working the pry tool up the panel and toward the front of the vehicle to disengage all connections to mating pieces.
(i). With the side panel free, unplug the courtesy lamp wire harness connector from the lamp by pushing down on the connector tab and pulling
STEP 3: Install Illuminated Cargo Sill (a) Plug the courtesy lamp wire harness connector into the female connector of the Illuminated Cargo Sill harness Y-split.
(b) Plug the male connector of the Illuminated Cargo Sill harness Y-split into the courtesy lamp in the trunk side panel.
(c) Secure the larger connector of the Y-split in the Illuminated Cargo Sill harness to the vehicle harness with a cable tie as shown. Trim excess length with a pair of side cutters.
(d) Secure the over-molded fuse of the Illuminated Cargo Sill harness to the vehicle harness with a cable tie as shown.
(e) Use 3 more cable ties to secure Illuminated Cargo Sill harness to the vehicle harness as shown.
NOTE: Secure cable ties as close to areas where harness clips into vehicle as possible.
(f) Route harness toward middle of vehicle and adhere to the vehicle sheet metal with 2 pieces of foam tape.
(g) Reinstall the trunk side panel. Ensure all clips are engaged and tabs are aligned with mating pieces. Reinstall 2 fasteners that were removed in step 2-f.
NOTE: Ensure that the rear seatbelt is properly installed and functional before moving on from this step
(h) Use 1 cable tie to secure the Illuminated Cargo Sill harness to the vehicle sheet metal where it exits from under the trunk side panel.
(i) Reinstall Styrofoam tray and press plastic clip into place to secure.
(j) Route the Illuminated Cargo Sill wire harness through the routing holes in the ribs of the Cargo Sill underside.
(k) Plug the light guide connectors from either side of the cargo sill into the connection terminals of the Illuminated Cargo Sill wire harness and wrap with foam tape.
(l) Install the Cargo Sill into place by applying even downward pressure to engage 4 clips. Ensure all clips are engaged.
(m) Reinstall any lifted weather seal against rear edge of Illuminated Cargo Sill.
(n) Replace cargo floor panel in vehicle, as well as any contents in cargo area or other accessories that had been previously removed and set aside.
STEP 4: Reassemble Vehicle
(a) Tighten the negative battery cable.
(1) Position the negative battery cable at the original factory position.
(2) Tighten the nut to 5.4 N-m (48 lbf-in) of torque. Torque: 5.4 N-m (48 lbf-in)
