This manual describes how to install and handle the Rear Gate Inset Lettering.
1. Before using this product, please read this manual and always handle the product
in an appropriate manner.
2. Please keep these instructions on hand at all times.
3. To avoid mistakes during installation, please have this product installed at a
Subaru dealer or at a shop designated by a Subaru dealer.
1. If the product gets dirty, do not attempt to clean it using hard objects such as a
scrub brush or wax containing compounds (polishing powder), as this may damage the
surface. Wipe with a cloth dampened with water, then wipe with a soft, dry cloth.
1. Before installing the Rear Gate Inset Lettering, switch off the vehicle’s ignition and
securely apply the parking brake.
2. Before installation, wipe off any dirt, oil, etc. from the vehicle in the area where
the product will be installed.
3. Working in cold temperatures (15°C or below) will reduce the adhesive strength of the
Rear Gate Inset Lettering. Warm the Rear Gate Inset Lettering and the installation
surface with a dryer before affixing the Rear Gate Inset Lettering.
4. Make sure the Rear Gate Inset Lettering is securely affixed.
5. Refrain from washing the vehicle for 24 hours after installing the Rear Gate Inset
Lettering, as this may cause it to peel off. In the event of rainy weather, store the
vehicle in a place where it will not be exposed to rain.

Among the letters that make
up “F O R E S T E R”,
there are two each of the
letter “R” and the letter
“E”. To prevent incorrect
placement of the letters, a
notch has been cut into the
application film and
release paper of the second
“E” and “R” to distinguish
them from the other
letters.

Installation Instructions
Thoroughly degrease the recessed lettering
area of the ①Rear Gate Inset Lettering
installation surface ( F O R E S T E R )
with a degreasing agent, etc.

Press down firmly on the application film so
that the ①Rear Gate Inset Lettering is
securely adhered to the application film.
(2)
Remove only one letter at the perforation,
peel off the release paper, and hold the
application film side with both hands.

CAUTION
・Avoid touching the adhesive side of the
①Rear Gate Inset Lettering with your
fingers. This can cause a decrease in the
strength of the adhesive.
・Be sure to remove the next letter at the
perforation only after affixing the
letter before it.
Separating all of the letters from one
another at the perforation can lead to
incorrect placement of the letters.

[After affixing]
①Rear Gate Inset Lettering
Affix the ①Rear Gate Inset Lettering so
that the spaces between the letters and the
recessed vehicle lettering are even, then
press down firmly on the letters over the
application film.
Affix the letters using pressure of 49N or more.

Remove the application film from each
letter of the ①Rear Gate Inset Lettering.

Repeat steps (3) and (4) with the remaining
letters, affixing the ①Rear Gate Inset
Lettering so that the spaces between the
letters and the recessed vehicle lettering
are even, then press down firmly on the
letters over the application film.
Affix the letters ❶-❽ in numerical order.
Be sure to check for the presence of notches on
❸ & ❽ and ❹ & ❼ to ensure that they get
placed in their respective proper locations.
While they are the same letters, each letter is
specifically designed to fit the shape of the
vehicle, so please make sure to place them
correctly.
