INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
PART NUMBER: SOA843X045
DESCRIPTION: Forester – Adjustable Crossbar Kit
NOTE: MAXIMUM LOAD (150 lbs.) requirements can be found on the bottom face of the front Crossbar. To minimize wind noise when the sunroof is tilted open, we recommend that the front crossbar be installed as far rearward on the side rails as possible when not using the crossbars to transport objects. Follow instructions that came with Genuine Subaru
attachment accessories for proper placement of the crossbars when transporting objects.

Remove the Front Crossbar (A) and the T30 Hex Key (C) from the packaging.

Loosen the two top bolts on the front Crossbar (A) until the bottom stanchions are able to drop and rotate.

Push the bottom stanchions downward and outward from the top stanchions and then swing each bottom 180º.

Place the Front Crossbar (A)onto the roof rails. Orient using the front arrow molded on the underside of the crossbar

Swing the Stanchions 180º.

Engage both parts together. Push the bottom piece towards the top piece until the front is nearly flush. Verify that the bottom piece is fully installed by checking the gaps and steps.

Tighten the bolts on the top of the front Crossbar (A) using the supplied T30 Hex Key (C) to 8NM. The bolt will be torqued to 8Nm when the end of the indicator goes to the line on the flag.

Repeat steps 1-7 for the Rear Crossbar (B).

Verify both of the crossbars have a firm grip with the roof rail by trying to move each crossbar where each part is attached to the roof rails.
NOTE: Once crossbar installation is complete, store the T30 torque wrench in glovebox for future use.

DESCRIPTION: Forester – Adjustable Crossbar Kit 1 Remove the Front Crossbar (A) and the T30 Hex Key (C) from the packaging. 3 Push the bottom stanchions downward and outward from the top stanchions and then swing each bottom 180º. 2 Loosen the two top bolts on the front Crossbar (A) until the bottom stanchions are able to drop and rotate. DESCRIPTION : Forester – Ensemble de traverses réglables 1 Retirer la traverse avant (A) et la clé hexagonale T30 (C) de l’emballage. 2 Desserrer les deux boulons supérieurs de la traverse avant (A) jusqu’à ce que les étais inférieurs puissent s’abaisser et pivoter. Remarque : Il n’est pas nécessaire de retirer les boulons au complet. Ils sont assez longs pour être en mesure de faire pivoter l’étai inférieur même s’il est encore sur la traverse. 3 Pousser les étais inférieurs vers le bas et vers l’extérieur par rapport aux 4
étais supérieurs, puis faire pivoter chaque étai inférieur de 180 degrés. Placer la traverse avant (A) sur les rails de toit.
Orienter la traverse au moyen de la flèche avant moulée sur le dessous Avant du véhicule 5 Faire pivoter les étais de 180°. 6 Engager les deux pièces ensemble. Pousser la pièce inférieure vers la pièce supérieure jusqu’à ce que l’avant soit presque au même niveau. Serrer les boulons sur le dessus de la traverse avant (A) au couple de 8 N.m au moyen de la clé hexagonale T30 (C) fournie. Le boulon sera serré à un couple de 8 N.m lorsque l’extrémité de l’indicateur arrive à la ligne de la marque.
Couple : 8 N.m ± 0,5 N.m
