INTRODUCTION:
This Service Information bulletin announces a running change to the four (4) front suspension crossmember retaining bolts to improve production efficiency. The new bolts have an increased length and are easily identifiable with their “cone” shape on the threaded end.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
The new crossmember bolts were incorporated into production during mid-June, 2018. This bulletin will be revised with the starting VIN when it becomes available.
PART INFORMATION:
The part number for the new bolt is 20008FL00A (qty. 4 per vehicle).
NOTES:
- Crossmember bolts are ONE-TIME USE items and must be replaced whenever loosened or removed.
- When replacing bolts with the new design, It is recommended to replace all 4 as a set.

These new crossmember bolts have a revised (HIGHER) torque specification of 110 Nm (81.1 ft. lbs.). Otherwise, the Service Procedure for their replacement remains unchanged. Always refer to the applicable Service Manual and review the full requirements of the repair being performed. The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time and every time. This includes but is not limited to: important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria, necessary special tools, required processes and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and lasting repair.
IMPORTANT: While the old design and new design bolts may be used in combination, due to the differences in torque requirements, when replacement is necessary, it is recommended to ensure all 4 bolts being used are the same type in order to eliminate having a mix of both with their different torque requirements during the installation process.
