INTRODUCTION:
This Service Information Bulletin provides helpful tips for installing the rear bumper. The supplemental tips provided are to be used in conjunction with procedures outlined in the applicable Subaru
Service Manual to prevent damage to the rear bumper painted surfaces.
SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:

Service Manual:
(2022MY) Body & Electrical/WIRING SYSTEM > EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM > Rear Bumper
- When positioning the rear bumper for installation, align the four claws located on the rear bumper bracket with the four holes located in the rear bumper.
- During installation, apply pressure to the rear bumper section 20mm from the upper edge where the bracket claws engage the bumper as shown below. A “click-type” sound can be heard when the claws are secured to the bumper. This procedure applies to both right and left sides.
CRITICAL:
- DO NOT apply any pressure to the areas of the rear bumper circled below. Pressure applied to these areas may cause the paint to crack.
- NEVER strike/hit any areas of the bumper with tools or by hand.
