DESCRIPTION: LONG RANGE KEY START REMOTE ENGINE START SYSTEM ASCENT
VEHICLE PREPARATION
1. Using a 10mm socket/ratchet, disconnect the negative battery cable. (FIGURE A)
NOTE: Do not disconnect the battery terminal from the battery post.
NOTE: DO NOT PROCEED TO THE NEXT STEP FOR ONE (1) MINUTE TO ALLOW TIME FOR THE AIRBAG POWER SUPPLY TO DISCHARGE.
2. Using a panel removal tool, carefully remove the left side dashboard panel by starting at the top and working downward to disengage six (6) pressure clips. (FIGURE B)
3. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove one (1) Phillips screw securing the lower dashboard panel on the lower right side of the dashboard panel. (FIGURE C)
4. Using a panel removal tool, carefully remove the driver’s side dashboard panel by pulling straight out to disengage seventeen (17) pressure clips. Unplug all connectors attached to the dashboard panel. (FIGURE D)
5. Using a 10mm socket/ratchet/extension, remove the two (2) 10mm nuts securing the driver’s side lower airbag/knee bolster. (FIGURE E)
6. Remove the lower airbag/knee bolster. Using a pick tool, disengage the yellow connector lock by lifting upward. (FIGURE F)
Using a panel removal tool, carefully lift upward to unplug the electrical connector and place the airbag/knee bolster panel in a safe area.
7. Open the glove box and press inward on the sides of the glove box to disengage the retaining tabs from the glove box inner cover. Disconnect the strut from the glove box. (FIGURE G)
8. Using a panel removal tool, carefully remove the right side dashboard panel by starting at the bottom and working upward to disengage six (6) pressure clips. (FIGURE H)
9. Using a panel removal tool, carefully remove the passenger’s side ornament panel by lifting upward to disengage eight (8) pressure clips and then pulling toward the rear of the vehicle. (FIGURE I)
10. Using a Phillips screwdriver, remove six (6) Phillips screws securing the glove box inner cover. Disengage the six (6) pressure clips and disconnect the glove box lamp connector to remove the glove box inner cover. (FIGURE J)
REMOTE ENGINE START WIRE HARNESS CONNECTIONS / ROUTING
1. Locate and release the vehicle’s 6-pin pre-fit ignition connector secured to the vehicle’s wire harness with breakaway tape near the base of the steering column. (FIGURE K)
2. Locate and release the vehicle’s 4-pin and 2-pin pre-fit connectors secured to the vehicle’s wire harness with breakaway tape near the upper driver’s side kick panel area. (FIGURE L)
3. When the vehicle’s 4-pin and 2-pin pre-fit connectors are free from the breakaway tape, unplug and discard the 2-pin mating connector/wire jumper. (This is used for the power window interrupt circuit).
4. Route the remote engine start harness 4-pin and 2-pin connectors over the steering column toward the driver’s side kick panel area. (FIGURE M)
5. Plug the remote engine start harness 4-pin and 2-pin connectors into the corresponding pre-fit connectors. (FIGURE N) Using one (1) of the supplied 39cm tie wraps, secure the remote engine start harness to the vehicle wiring harness at the white tape ring on the remote engine start harness. Trim o the excess tie wrap. Tuck the 4-pin and 2-pin connectors behind the vehicle wiring harness. (FIGURE N)
6. Plug the remote engine start harness 6-pin connector into the corresponding pre-๏ t ignition connector. (FIGURE O)
7. Using three (3) of the supplied 39cm tie wraps, secure the remote engine start harness to the vehicle wiring harness. Working from right to left; attach one (1) tie wrap around the 6-pin pre-fit ignition connection, one (1) tie wrap around the remote engine start fuse holders and one (1) tie wrap at the white tape ring on the remote engine start harness. Trim off the excess tie wraps. Exercise the tilt and telescopic steering wheel after securing the tie wraps to ensure the wire harness is not stressed. (FIGURE P)
8. Using two (2) of the supplied 39cm tie wraps, secure the remote engine start harness to the vehicle wiring harness. Attach one (1) tie wrap to the right of the factory tie wrap at the white tape ring on the remote engine start harness. Attach one (1) tie wrap to the right of the steering column, above the air duct at the white tape ring on the remote engine start harness. Trim o the excess tie wraps. (FIGURE Q)
9. Using alcohol, clean the air duct surface to the left of the center console, as shown. Remove the release liners from two (2) of the supplied wire harness clips. Apply to the air duct and press firmly in place for at least ten (10) seconds. (FIGURE R) NOTE: Ensure the openings of the wire harness clips face upward.
10. Route the remote engine start harness toward the passenger’s side of the vehicle behind the center console area. Secure the remote engine start harness to the wire harness clips at the white tape rings. (FIGURE S)
11. Using alcohol, clean the air duct surface to the right of the center console, as shown. Remove the release liner from one (1) of the supplied wire harness clips. Apply to the air duct above the hose port and press firmly in place for at least ten (10) seconds. Secure the remote engine start harness to the wire harness clip at the white tape ring. (FIGURE T) NOTE: Ensure the opening of the wire harness clip faces upward.
REMOTE ENGINE START ECU MOUNTING
1. Locate the glove box inner cover and carefully pull back the insulation pad from the top and back areas, as shown. Using alcohol, clean the top and back of the glove box inner cover, as shown. (FIGURE U) NOTE: Ensure the glove box inner cover is completely dry.
2. Remove the release liners from two (2) of the supplied wire harness clips. Apply to the back of the glove box inner cover and press firmly in place for at least ten (10) seconds. (FIGURE V) NOTE: Ensure the opening of the left wire harness clip faces upward and the opening of the right wire harness clip faces the passenger door when the glove box inner cover is reassembled.
3. Remove the four (4) release liners from the remote engine start ECU foam tape and attach it to the glove box inner cover, as shown. Press firmly in place for at least thirty (30) seconds. (FIGURE W) NOTE: Ensure the Remote Engine Start ECU connectors will be facing forward, toward the vehicle’s dashwall when reassembled.
4. Plug the remote engine start harness 12-pin and 8-pin connectors into the remote engine start ECU. (FIGURE W)
5. Secure the remote engine start harness to the wire harness clips. (FIGURE W) NOTE: Ensure the Remote Engine Start Harness is NOT too tight to avoid stress on the ECU connectors.
UNDER HOOD WARNING LABEL MOUNTING
1. Using alcohol, clean the top, right side of the radiator core support.
2. Remove the release liner from the under hood warning label and secure to the top of the radiator core support, as shown. (FIGURE X)
PANEL RE-ASSEMBLY
1. Plug the yellow electrical connector into the airbag/knee bolster. Verify that the yellow connector is fully seated. Failure to seat the connector lock could result in the instrument cluster airbag light remaining illuminated. Reinstall the airbag/knee bolster and torque the two (2) 10mm nuts to 7.5 Nm +/- 2 Nm (0.76 Kgf-m +/- 0.2 Kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lbs +/- 1.5 ft-lbs).
2. Plug in any previously removed connectors and re-install the driver’s side dashboard panel by engaging the seventeen (17) pressure clips.
3. Re-install the one (1) Phillips screw on the lower right side of the dashboard panel.
4. Re-install the left side dashboard panel by engaging the six (6) pressure clips.
5. Re-connect the glove box lamp connector to the lamp on the glove box inner cover. Re-install the glove box inner cover by engaging the six (6) pressure clips and secure with six (6) Phillips screws.
6. Re-install the passengerยs side ornament panel by engaging the eight (8) pressure clips.
7. Re-install the right side dashboard panel by engaging the six (6) pressure clips.
8. Re-install the glove box and strut.
9. At the end of the installation, insert the Quick Reference Cards into the Owner’s Information Kit.
SYSTEM POWER-UP
1. After all the connections are complete, re-connect the vehicle’s negative battery cable. Using a 10mm socket/torque wrench, tighten the 10mm nut to 7.5 Nm +/- 2 Nm (0.76 Kgf-m +/- 0.2 Kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lbs +/- 1.5 ft-lbs).
2. Start the vehicle at least one (1) time using the ignition key prior to activating the remote engine start system. This is required to allow the vehicle’s electronic systems to re-synchronize.
3. With the vehicle running via the ignition key, verify that the instrument cluster airbag light turns o . If the airbag light remains on, refer to the vehicle service information for troubleshooting.
4. With the vehicle running via the ignition key, apply the brake pedal and shift the transmission out of park. Turn off the engine and con๏ rm the ignition key cannot be removed from the ignition switch. If it can, con๏ rm the key lock solenoid connector is connected and the delivery (test) mode fuse is removed, then re-check.
5. Refer to the vehicle Owner’s manual for the Power Window Reset Procedure to restore the power window functions.
SYSTEM REGISTRATION
ENSURE THE SOFTWARE VERSION HAS BEEN UPDATED TO THE LATEST REVISION BEFORE ATTEMPTING SYSTEM REGISTRATION.
NOTE: Once the Ignition is turned ON, the system will exit System Registration after 2 minutes.
DST-i SETUP
Plug the DST-i diagnostic plug into the vehicle’s diagnostic connector
Plug the DST-i USB plug into a Network-Enabled laptop
Select/Open the SSM4 software on the Network-Enabled laptop
REGISTRATION
1. PRESS IMMOBILIZER ETC. REGISTRATION, PRESS IMMOBILIZER REGISTRATION AND PRESS SELECT
2. PRESS ASCENT AND PRESS SELECT
Insert an ignition key into the ignition cylinder and turn to the ON position
3. PRESS G TYPE FOR KEY START MODELS AND PRESS CONFIRMED
4. ENSURE THE IGNITION IS TURNED ON AND PRESS OK
WAIT FOR LAPTOP TO ESTABLISH CONNECTION
5. PRESS REMOTE ENGINE START CM REGISTRATION AND PRESS CONFIRMED
6. ENTER AUTHENTICATION KEY AND PRESS CONNECTION
7. PRESS YES TO EXECUTE REGISTRATION
8. CONFIRM IGNITION IS ON AND PRESS OK
WAIT FOR BIU TO COMMUNICATE WITH RES CONTROL MODULE
9. REGISTRATION SUCCESSFUL, PRESS OK
10. TURN OFF IGNITION AND PRESS OK
POST INSTALLATION CHECKLIST
1. REMOTE ENGINE START- Make sure the key is removed from the ignition switch, the engine hood, all doors and trunk are closed. Press the START button on the remote start transmitter two (2) times within three (3) seconds. The vehicle’s parking lights should flash and the vehicle’s horn should honk one (1) time and then the vehicle should crank and start. Once started, the transmitter LED will flash two (2) times and the parking lights will turn on and stay on signifying the vehicle is running. The transmitter LED will flash one (1) time every three (3) seconds signifying the vehicle is still running.
NOTE: If the vehicle does NOT respond to the remote start transmitters, proceed to SECTION 12 for the TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING procedure.
2. SHUT DOWN WITH DOOR OPENING – While the vehicle is running by the remote engine start, wait at least five (5) seconds and then con๏ rm that all functions (lock, unlock & trunk, but not panic) operate properly on the FACTORY transmitter. Once the FACTORY transmitter functionality is confirmed, press the UNLOCK button on the FACTORY transmitter and open any vehicle door. The remote engine start should shut down and the transmitter LED should flash three (3) times indicating the system has shut down.
3. ACTIVATION WITH DOOR OPEN – Ensure the key is removed from the ignition switch and the engine hood and trunk are closed. Open the driver’s door, press the START button on the remote start transmitter two (2) times within three (3) seconds. The vehicle’s parking lights should flash and the vehicle’s horn should honk six (6) times. The vehicle should not start with any door or trunk opened.
4. BRAKE PEDAL SAFETY – While sitting in the vehicle with the engine hood, all doors and trunk closed, activate the remote engine start and press the brake pedal. The vehicle should shut off.
5. KEY-IN-SENSE – While sitting in the vehicle with the engine hood, all doors and trunk closed, insert the ignition key into the ignition switch, but keep it in the OFF position. Activate the remote engine start. The vehicle’s parking lights should flash and the vehicle’s horn should honk two (2) times. The vehicle should not start since the key is in the ignition switch. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch.
6. HOOD SAFETY SWITCH – Open the engine hood and activate the remote engine start. The vehicle’s parking lights should ๏ ash and the vehicle’s horn should honk two (2) times. The vehicle should not start since the hood safety switch is activated.
7. HEATER / A/C FUNCTION – Using the ignition key, turn the ignition to the ON position. Preset the vehicle’s heater or air conditioning to the ON position. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the ignition key. Activate the remote engine start and verify that the heater or air conditioning turns on to the preset setting for manual climate controlled vehicles or turns to the “Full Auto” setting for electronic climate control vehicles.
8. 15 MINUTE RUN TIME – Activate the remote engine start and allow the system to run for the 15 minute preset run time. The remote engine start should shut down after 15 minutes (+/- 10 seconds).
9. TRANSMITTER FUNCTIONALITY VERIFICATION – Activate the remote engine start using both of the supplied single button remote start transmitters.
FUNCTIONAL TESTING IS NOW COMPLETE.
TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING
1. Open the driver’s door and enter the vehicle. The driver’s door must remain open throughout the entire programming process. Ensure all other vehicle doors, the engine hood and trunk are closed.
2. Verify that the transmission shifter is in the “park” position.
3. Turn the ignition “ON” then “OFF”, “ON” then “OFF”, “ON” then “OFF”, then back “ON” and leave on throughout the entire programming process. (ON/OFF ignition cycles must be completed within twenty (20) seconds.)
4. The system will flash the side marker lights, taillights and parking lights and honk the horn three (3) times indicating that the system has entered transmitter learn mode.
5. Press and hold the button on the transmitter to be learned for three (3) seconds until the system flashes the side marker lights, taillights and parking lights and honks the horn one (1) time, indicating that the system has learned the transmitter. Release the button. Upon successful programming, the remote start transmitter may flash/beep one (1) time.
6. Repeat step five (5) for additional transmitters. The system will accept up to eight (8) transmitters.
7. Turn the ignition OFF to exit transmitter learn mode.
8. Return to SECTION 11 to perform the POST INSTALLATION CHECKLIST.
NOTE: The system will exit the transmitter learn mode if the ignition is turned OFF, the driver’s door is closed or thirty (30) seconds of inactivity.

(FIGURE K) 2. Locate and release the vehicleยs 4-pin and 2-pin pre-fit connectors secured to the vehicleยs wire harness with breakaway tape near the upper driverยs side kick panel area. (FIGURE L) 3. When the vehicleยs 4-pin and 2-pin pre-๏ t connectors are free from the breakaway tape, unplug and discard the 2-pin mating connector/wire jumper. (This is used for the power window interrupt circuit). 4. Route the remote engine start harness 4-pin and 2-pin connectors over the steering column toward the driverยs side kick panel area. Trim o the excess tie wrap. Tuck the 4-pin and 2-pin connectors behind the vehicle wiring harness. (FIGURE N) 6. Plug the remote engine start harness 6-pin connector into the corresponding pre-๏ t ignition connector. (FIGURE O) 7. Using three (3) of the supplied 39cm tie wraps, secure the remote engine start harness to the vehicle wiring harness. Working from right to left; attach one (1) tie wrap around the 6-pin pre-๏ t ignition connection, one (1) tie wrap around the remote engine start fuse holders and one (1) tie wrap at the white tape ring on the remote engine start harness. Trim o the excess tie wraps. Exercise the tilt and telescopic steering wheel after securing the tie wraps to ensure the wire harness is not stressed. Attach one (1) tie wrap to the right of the factory tie wrap at the white tape ring on the remote engine start harness. Attach one (1) tie wrap to the right of the steering column, above the air duct at the white tape ring on the remote engine start harness. Trim o the excess tie wraps. (FIGURE Q) 9. Using alcohol, clean the air duct surface to the left of the center console, as shown. Remove the release liners from two (2) of the supplied wire harness clips. Apply to the air duct and press ๏ rmly in place for at least ten (10) seconds. (FIGURE R) NOTE: Ensure the openings of the wire harness clips face upward. 10. Route the remote engine start harness toward the passengerยs side of the vehicle behind the center console area. Secure the remote engine start harness to the wire harness clips at the white tape rings. Apply to the air duct above the hose port and press ๏ rmly in place for at least ten (10) seconds. Secure the remote engine start harness to the wire harness clip at the white tape ring. (FIGURE T) NOTE: Ensure the opening of the wire harness clip faces upward. Apply to the back of the glove box inner cover and press ๏ rmly in place for at least ten (10) seconds. Press ๏ rmly in place for at least thirty (30) seconds. (FIGURE W) NOTE: Ensure the Remote Engine Start ECU connectors will be facing forward, toward the vehicleยs dashwall when reassembled. 4. Plug the remote engine start harness 12-pin and 8-pin connectors into the remote engine start ECU. (FIGURE W) 5. Secure the remote engine start harness to the wire harness clips. OF AMERICA 8 PANEL RE-ASSEMBLY 1. Plug the yellow electrical connector into the airbag/knee bolster. Verify that the yellow connector is fully seated. Failure to seat the connector lock could result in the instrument cluster airbag light remaining illuminated. Reinstall the airbag/knee bolster and torque the two (2) 10mm nuts to 7.5 Nm +/- 2 Nm (0.76 Kgf-m +/- 0.2 Kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lbs +/- 1.5 ft-lbs). 2. Plug in any previously removed connectors and re-install the driverยs side dashboard panel by engaging the seventeen (17) pressure clips. 3. Re-install the one (1) Phillips screw on the lower right side of the dashboard panel. 4. Re-install the left side dashboard panel by engaging the six (6) pressure clips. 5. Re-connect the glove box lamp connector to the lamp on the glove box inner cover. Re-install the glove box inner cover by engaging the six (6) pressure clips and secure with six (6) Phillips screws. 6. Re-install the passengerยs side ornament panel by engaging the eight (8) pressure clips. 7. Re-install the right side dashboard panel by engaging the six (6) pressure clips. 8. Re-install the glove box and strut. 9. At the end of the installation, insert the Quick Reference Cards into the Ownerยs Information Kit. SYSTEM POWER-UP 1. After all the connections are complete, re-connect the vehicleยs negative battery cable. Using a 10mm socket/ torque wrench, tighten the 10mm nut to 7.5 Nm +/- 2 Nm (0.76 Kgf-m +/- 0.2 Kgf-m, 5.5 ft-lbs +/- 1.5 ft-lbs). 2. Start the vehicle at least one (1) time using the ignition key prior to activating the remote engine start system. This is required to allow the vehicleยs electronic systems to re-synchronize. 3. With the vehicle running via the ignition key, verify that the instrument cluster airbag light turns o . If the airbag light remains on, refer to the vehicle service information for troubleshooting. 4. With the vehicle running via the ignition key, apply the brake pedal and shift the transmission out of park. Turn o the engine and con๏ rm the ignition key cannot be removed from the ignition switch. If it can, con๏ rm the key lock solenoid connector is connected and the delivery (test) mode fuse is removed, then re-check. 5. OF AMERICA H001SXC300 11 POST INSTALLATION CHECKLIST 1. REMOTE ENGINE START- Make sure the key is removed from the ignition switch, the engine hood, all doors and trunk are closed. Press the START button on the remote start transmitter two (2) times within three (3) seconds. The vehicleยs parking lights should ๏ ash and the vehicleยs horn should honk one (1) time and then the vehicle should crank and start. Once started, the transmitter LED will ๏ ash two (2) times and the parking lights will turn on and stay on signifying the vehicle is running. The transmitter LED will ๏ ash one (1) time every three (3) seconds signifying the vehicle is still running. NOTE: If the vehicle does NOT respond to the remote start transmitters, proceed to SECTION 12 for the TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMING procedure. 2. SHUT DOWN WITH DOOR OPENING – While the vehicle is running by the remote engine start, wait at least ๏ ve (5) seconds and then con๏ rm that all functions (lock, unlock & trunk, but not panic) operate properly on the FACTORY transmitter. Once the FACTORY transmitter functionality is con๏ rmed, press the UNLOCK button on the FACTORY transmitter and open any vehicle door. The remote engine start should shut down and the transmitter LED should ๏ ash three (3) times indicating the system has shut down. 3. ACTIVATION WITH DOOR OPEN – Ensure the key is removed from the ignition switch and the engine hood and trunk are closed. Open the driverยs door, press the START button on the remote start transmitter two (2) times within three (3) seconds. The vehicleยs parking lights should ๏ ash and the vehicleยs horn should honk six (6) times. The vehicle should not start with any door or trunk opened. 4. BRAKE PEDAL SAFETY – While sitting in the vehicle with the engine hood, all doors and trunk closed, activate the remote engine start and press the brake pedal. The vehicle should shut o . 5. KEY-IN-SENSE – While sitting in the vehicle with the engine hood, all doors and trunk closed, insert the ignition key into the ignition switch, but keep it in the OFF position. Activate the remote engine start. The vehicleยs parking lights should ๏ ash and the vehicleยs horn should honk two (2) times. The vehicle should not start since the key is in the ignition switch. Remove the ignition key from the ignition switch. 6. HOOD SAFETY SWITCH – Open the engine hood and activate the remote engine start. The vehicleยs parking lights should ๏ ash and the vehicleยs horn should honk two (2) times. The vehicle should not start since the hood safety switch is activated. 7. HEATER / A/C FUNCTION – Using the ignition key, turn the ignition to the ON position. Preset the vehicleยs heater or air conditioning to the ON position. Turn the ignition OFF and remove the ignition key. Activate the remote engine start and verify that the heater or air conditioning turns on to the preset setting for manual climate controlled vehicles or turns to the ยFull Autoย setting for electronic climate control vehicles. 8. 15 MINUTE RUN TIME – Activate the remote engine start and allow the system to run for the 15 minute preset run time. The remote engine start should shut down after 15 minutes (+/- 10 seconds). 9. TRANSMITTER FUNCTIONALITY VERIFICATION – Activate the remote engine start using both of the supplied single button remote start transmitters. Ensure all other vehicle doors, the engine hood and trunk are closed. 2. Verify that the transmission shifter is in the ยparkย position. 3. Turn the ignition ยONย then ยOFFย, ยONย then ยOFFย, ยONย then ยOFFย, then back ยONย and leave on throughout the entire programming process. (ON/OFF ignition cycles must be completed within twenty (20) seconds.) 4. The system will ๏ ash the side marker lights, taillights and parking lights and honk the horn three (3) times indicating that the system has entered transmitter learn mode. 5. Branchez les connecteurs ร 12 broches et ร 8 broches du faisceau du dรฉmarreur ร distance dans lยUCE du dรฉmarreur ร distance. (FIGURE W) 5. Fixez le faisceau du dรฉmarreur ร distance aux attaches de faisceau de cรขblage. Avec de lยalcool, nettoyez la partie supรฉrieure droite du support de faisceau de radiateur. 2. Retirez lยendos adhรฉsif de lยรฉtiquette de mise en garde du compartiment moteur et collez celle-ci sur le dessus du support de faisceau de radiateur, comme sur lยillustration. Branchez le connecteur รฉlectrique jaune sur le protรจge-genoux/coussin gon๏ able. Assurez-vous que le connecteur jaune est complรจtement enfoncรฉ. Si le connecteur nยest pas bien enfoncรฉ, le tรฉmoin de coussin gon๏ able du groupe dยinstruments pourrait rester allumรฉ. Remettez en place le protรจge-genoux/coussin gon๏ able et serrez les deux (2) รฉcrous de 10 mm ร 7,5 +/- 2 Nm (0,76 +/- 0,2 kgfm ou 5,5 +/- 1,5 lb-pi). 2. Branchez tous les connecteurs prรฉcรฉdemment dรฉbranchรฉs et installez le panneau du tableau de bord cรดtรฉ conducteur au moyen des dix-sept (17) attaches ร pression. 3. Remettez une (1) vis Phillips sur le cรดtรฉ infรฉrieur droit du panneau du tableau de bord. 4. Installez le panneau du cรดtรฉ gauche du tableau de bord au moyen des six (6) attaches ร pression. 5. Rebranchez le connecteur de la lampe sur le couvercle intรฉrieur de la boรฎte ร gants. Installez le couvercle intรฉrieur de la boรฎte ร gants au moyen des six (6) attaches ร pression et ๏ xez-le avec six (6) vis Phillips. 6. Installez le panneau de garniture cรดtรฉ passager au moyen des huit (8) attaches ร pression. 7. Installez le panneau du cรดtรฉ droit du tableau de bord au moyen des six (6) attaches ร pression. 8. Installez la boรฎte ร gants et le support. 9. ร la ๏ n de lยinstallation, glissez la Carte de rรฉfรฉrence rapide dans le dossier du propriรฉtaire. DรMARRAGE DU SYSTรME 1. Une fois toutes les connexions terminรฉes, rebranchez la borne nรฉgative de la batterie du vรฉhicule. ร lยaide de la clรฉ ร rochet/douille/rallonge de 10 mm, serrez lยรฉcrou de 10 mm ร 7,5 +/- 2 Nm (0,76 +/- 0,2 kgfm ou 5,5 +/- 1,5 lb-pi). 2. Faites dรฉmarrer le vรฉhicule au moins une (1) fois avec la clรฉ de contact avant dยessayer le systรจme de dรฉmarrage ร distance. Cette prรฉcaution est nรฉcessaire pour permettre aux systรจmes รฉlectroniques du vรฉhicule de se resynchroniser. 3. Dรฉmarrez le moteur ร lยaide de la clรฉ de contact et vรฉri๏ ez si le tรฉmoin de coussin gon๏ able du tableau de bord sยรฉteint. Si le tรฉmoin de coussin gon๏ able reste allumรฉ, reportez-vous ร lยinformation de service aprรจs-vente du vรฉhicule pour avoir des prรฉcisions sur le dรฉpannage. 4. Dรฉmarrez le moteur ร lยaide de la clรฉ de contact, appliquez les freins et dรฉplacez la transmission ร une autre position que celle de stationnement. Coupez le moteur et assurez-vous que la clรฉ ne peut pas รชtre retirรฉe du contact. Si la clรฉ peut รชtre retirรฉe, vรฉri๏ ez si le connecteur ร solรฉnoรฏde de verrouillage est bien branchรฉ et si le fusible de mode livraison (test) est retirรฉ, puis essayez de nouveau. 5. Les feux de stationnement du vรฉhicule doivent clignoter et lยavertisseur doit retentir une (1) fois, puis le vรฉhicule doit dรฉmarrer. Une fois que le vรฉhicule a dรฉmarrรฉ, le tรฉmoin ร DEL de la tรฉlรฉcommande clignote deux (2) fois et les feux de stationnement sยallument, ce qui indique que le moteur tourne. Le tรฉmoin ร DEL de la tรฉlรฉcommande clignote une (1) fois toutes les trois (3) secondes, ce qui indique que le moteur tourne toujours. Le moteur ne doit pas dรฉmarrer, puisque la clรฉ est dans le contact. 6. CONTACTEUR DE SรCURITร DU CAPOT ย Ouvrez le capot et activez le dรฉmarrage ร distance. Les feux de stationnement du vรฉhicule doivent clignoter et lยavertisseur doit retentir deux (2) fois. Le vรฉhicule ne doit pas dรฉmarrer, puisque le contacteur de sรฉcuritรฉ du capot est activรฉ. 7. CHAUFFAGE ET CLIMATISATION ย Introduisez la clรฉ de contact et tournez-la ร la position de marche (ON). Mettez en marche le chau age ou la climatisation. Tournez la clรฉ ร la position dยarrรชt (OFF) et retirez-la. DURรE MAXIMALE DE FONCTIONNEMENT DE 15 MINUTES ย Activez le dรฉmarrage ร distance et laissez le moteur tourner pendant 15 minutes. Le dรฉmarreur ร distance devrait arrรชter le moteur aprรจs 15 minutes (+/- 10 secondes). 9. VรRIFICATION DU FONCTIONNEMENT DE LA TรLรCOMMANDE ย Activez le dรฉmarrage ร distance tour ร tour avec les deux tรฉlรฉcommandes de dรฉmarrage ร distance ร un bouton fournies. Ouvrez la porte du conducteur et entrez dans le vรฉhicule. La porte du conducteur doit demeurer ouverte tout au long du processus de programmation. Assurez-vous que toutes les autres portes du vรฉhicule, le capot et le co re sont fermรฉs. 2. Assurez-vous que le levier de vitesses est ร la position ยซ P ยป (stationnement). 3. Mettez le contact et coupez le moteur, remettez le contact et coupez le moteur, remettez le contact et coupez le moteur, puis remettez le contact et laissez le processus de programmation se dรฉrouler. (Les cycles dยallumage MARCHE/ARRรT doivent รชtre e ectuรฉs en moins de vingt (20) secondes.) 4. Relรขchez le bouton . Une fois la programmation rรฉussie, la tรฉlรฉcommande de dรฉmarrage ร distance peut clignoter ou รฉmettre un signal sonore une (1) fois. 6. Rรฉpรฉtez lยรฉtape cinq (5) pour les autres tรฉlรฉcommandes. Le systรจme accepte jusquยร huit (8) tรฉlรฉcommandes. 7. Coupez le contact pour quitter le mode dยapprentissage de tรฉlรฉcommande. 8. Retournez ร la SECTION 11 pour e ectuer la LISTE DE VรRIFICATION APRรS LยINSTALLATION.
