INTRODUCTION
In the event of a customer concern regarding insects found inside the rear combination lamps, a countermeasure lamp assembly is now available to prevent the intrusion. The new combination lamps have an additional lip molded around the three bulb socket areas which decreases the gap between the socket and the housing from 2mm to 0.5mm.
COUNTERMEASURE IN PRODUCTION
The countermeasure combination lamps were incorporated into production 6/20/2013. Reference illustrations below show the difference between the old and new style combination lamps.

SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION
Disconnect the combination lamp wiring harness connector and remove the four retaining nuts. Then slide the lamp assembly directly rearward to disengage it from the retaining clip.
Be careful not to damage the retaining clip.
- Always replace the packing / gasket (included) with the new combination lamp assembly.
- After confirming the new lamp assembly is properly slid back on to the retaining clip, tighten the 4 retaining nuts to 7.5 Nm (5.5 ft. lbs.).
