INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

PART NUMBER: D441SVC000

DESCRIPTION: STI PERFORMANCE MUFFLERS

STEP 1: Safely lift up and secure the vehicle. CAUTION: Vehicle components are extremely hot after driving. Do not touch any component until the vehicle has cooled down.

STEP 2: Remove and discard the nuts and bolts connecting the rear exhaust pipe to the mufflers.

STEP 3: Spray muffler hangers with a mild soapy solution. Repeat on other side.

STEP 4: First disengage the inboard muffler hanger from rubber exhaust hangers. Then repeat for the outboard muffler hanger. Repeat for the muffler on the other side.

STEP 5: Spray rubber exhaust hanger with soapy solution.

STEP 6: Remove the old muffler gasket and discard. Replace with a new muffler gasket and securely seat it.

STEP 7: Mount the outboard STI muffler hanger onto the rubber exhaust hanger. Then mount the inboard muffler hanger. Repeat for the STI muffler on the other side.

STEP 8: Adjust muffler positioning on the muffler hangers to line up the holes on the muffler to midpipe flange. Use a torque wrench to tighten nuts to 35.4 ft-lbs (48 N·m). Recheck tip position and adjust if necessary.

Installation Complete: Refer to Disclaimer and Care instructions prior to starting the vehicle. Remove any protective wraps from the STI Performance Mufflers. Ensure mufflers tips are unobstructed and vehicle is in a well-ventilated area. Any contaminants left on the exhaust systems such as grease, oils, and/or fingerprints may result in permanent staining. Store the Disclaimer and Care Sheet in the vehicle’s glove compartment.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING YOUR STI PERFORMANCE MUFFLERS

These mufflers comply with industry noise standards issued by the Society of Automotive Engineers. You should ensure that it also complies with any state or local noise regulations that may exist in your area.

To prevent permanent staining of your new STI Performance Mufflers, wipe the surfaces clean with a solution of mild detergent and water (Suggestion: Windex) before starting the engine. Any contaminants left on the mufflers such as grease, oil, and/or fingerprints will result in PERMANENT staining.

Utiliser une clé dynamométrique pour serrer les écrous à un couple de 48 Nm (35,4 lb-pi). Vérifier de nouveau la position de l’extrémité et l’ajuster au besoin. ÉTAPE 7 : installer le support extérieur du silencieux STI sur le support d’échappement en caoutchouc. Installer ensuite le support intérieur du silencieux. Répéter la procédure pour le silencieux STI de l’autre côté. Retirer les enveloppes protectrices des silencieux performants STI. S’assurer que les extrémités des silencieux ne sont pas obstruées et que le véhicule se trouve dans un endroit bien aéré. Tout contaminant laissé sur les systèmes d’échappement, comme de la graisse, des huiles ou des traces de doigts, peut tacher de façon permanente. Ranger la clause de non-responsabilité et la fiche d’entretien dans la boîte à gants du véhicule.
