INTRODUCTION
This Bulletin provides the Subaru of America, Inc. position on the use of “reconditioned” or the practice of repairing damaged steel or aluminum road wheels.
Subaru of America, Inc. does not approve of repairs to or the use of “reconditioned” steel or aluminum road wheels.
Any repairs involving (but not limited to) welding, bending, heating, straightening, hammering, re-machining, re-forming, plating, re-plating or adding material can compromise the structural integrity and the overall safety aspect of a road wheel.
In addition, Subaru of America, Inc. does not recommend the refinishing of steel or aluminum road wheels or provide any warranty coverage for wheel finish repairs.
