These 4 (four) main bolts secure the rear sub frame into the vehicle.
PRODUCTION CHANGE INFORMATION:
The new bolts were incorporated into production as per the table below. Additional starting VIN information will be added as it becomes available.
Model | Starting VIN |
Legacy | M3009195 |
Impreza 4-Door | M3603443 |
Impreza 5-Door | M3707702 |
WRX / STI | L9823684 |
Ascent | M3429891 |
PART INFORMATION:
- For SBR / Japan-produced vehicles, the new sub frame bolt’s part number is: 20058FL020.
- For SIA -U.S. produced vehicles, the new sub frame bolt’s part number is: 20058AL00B.
IMPORTANT: These sub frame bolts are one-time use items as indicated by the black star in the Service Manual and the illustration above. Anytime these bolts are removed, they must be replaced.
REMINDER: Always order the most up-to-date replacement parts based on the specific VIN being repaired. The changes made to the sub frame bolts are outlined in the illustrations below.
Torque Specifications:
- All models EXCEPT Tribeca: 145 Nm (107 ft. lbs.)
- Tribeca: 95Nm (70 ft. lbs.)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
- On models where the vehicle’s suspension height is measured using the top of the bolt head of the rear sub frame bolts, these new bolts will REDUCE that specification by 2mm due to the added flange thickness. An example image of the related Service Manual information (Impreza) is provided below.
- These new bolts may only be used as substitutes for bolt p.n. 901000378 for rear suspension mounting. There are other places on the vehicle where p.n. 901000378 is used but, these new bolts are NOT to be substituted for use in those areas.
SERVICE PROCEDURE / INFORMATION:
REMINDER: Customer satisfaction and retention starts with performing quality repairs.
The service procedures for sub frame bolt replacement remain unchanged. Always refer to STIS and review the full requirements of the repair being performed. The Service Manual procedures contain information critical to performing an effective repair the first time, every time. This includes but is not limited to important SAFETY precautions, proper inspection criteria, necessary special tools, required processes and related one-time-use parts needed for a complete and lasting repair.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS:
- SOA strongly discourages the printing and/or local storage of service information as previously released information and electronic publications may be updated at any time.
- Always check for any open recalls or campaigns anytime a vehicle is in for servicing.
- Always refer to STIS for the latest service information before performing any repairs.
