SUBJECT: 6MT Shifter Rattle and Improvement to Reverse Pull Collar Operation



This Bulletin announces availability of a revised 6MT shifter lever and an enhancement to the reverse pull collar assembly designed to improve the operation of the reverse selection mechanism.  In addition, this new assembly will eliminate a rattle sound from the shifter which may occur primarily in 3rd gear between 3500 and 6000 rpm.  While the rattle condition is most noticeable in the listed gear and rpm range, it may in rare cases be noticeable under other conditions.

SUBJECT: Revised Valve Train Parts to Reduce a Warm Engine Tapping or Sewing Machine type Sound from the Left Cylinder Head



This bulletin announces the availability of revised valve train components developed to reduce a tapping sound which may be heard coming from the left-hand (B2) side of the engine when the engine is warm.  This bulletin does not address any cold engine or start-up sounds.  The changes consist of:


CVT Fluid Level Adjustment Procedure – 2014 Subaru Forester

IMPORTANT:  The following CVT fluid level adjustment procedure MUST be performed as soon as possible after receipt of the subject vehicle(s) by your dealership.

Once the adjustment procedure has been completed, we request your Warranty claim for the adjustment be submitted immediately.  Your cooperation in this matter will help insure all the affected vehicles are corrected and ready for sale / delivery as quickly as possible.


Excess Amount of Fluid in CVT Transmission – 2014 Subaru Forester


This announcement relates to specific 2014 Forester 2.5 Non‐Turbo CVT models which have been identified as having an excess amount of fluid in the CVT transmission.  Although we have limited this situation, some of the affected vehicles will make it to the allocated dealer with the fluid level overfilled.
